About the event
In this interactive playshop, educators will receive an exclusive preview of the April SEL Calendar theme, "Re-Wilding: Getting Back to Nature!" This month’s focus is on fostering cultural appreciation, deepening students' connection with nature, and inspiring environmental stewardship. Participants will explore how helping students engage with cultural traditions and participate in activities that celebrate the natural world can motivate them to take meaningful action to care for the environment.
This playshop will model four hands-on activities from the April Calendar, formatted as a Morning Meeting/Advisory session. Each activity is grounded in research-backed practices, providing educators with evidence-based strategies to enhance social-emotional learning (SEL) in their classrooms. You’ll discover how these activities promote cultural appreciation, environmental responsibility, and community action, while aligning with proven educational frameworks.
