Partnering with The Family Smartphone Guide

"You wouldn't hand your child the keys to a car without teaching them the rules of the road," says Denommé. The same principle applies to smartphone and social media." This guide empowers parents to take control the moment their child begins using a smartphone. With increasing research highlighting the harmful impacts of smartphones and social media on children's mental and physical health, it's crucial for parents to grasp the landscape, understand the legal risks, and maintain open communication with their children.

Unlike many digital citizenship programs that focus primarily on rules and compliance, our curriculum is built around empowerment, engagement, and holistic well-being. Together, these elements create a transformative learning experience that equips students not only to be responsible digital citizens but to thrive personally and socially in today’s connected world.

  • Students don’t just receive information—they actively experience concepts through hands-on activities, artistic expression, and real-world practice. This deepens understanding and retention.

  • Each module weaves together digital literacy, safety, and social-emotional well-being, recognizing that navigating the digital world requires more than just technical knowledge.

  • We team up with students as partners in learning—creating a safe space where they feel confident exploring challenges without fear of judgment or shutdown.

  • The curriculum pairs seamlessly with a full-day Morning Meeting/Advisory Calendar designed to nurture connection, belonging, and resilience throughout the school day.

  • Staff and leaders receive continuous guidance, helping ensure the curriculum is implemented with fidelity and adapted to their unique school culture.
