How do you build an early education curriculum for Saint Lucia?

You don't start with the curriculum. You start by listening.

Before a single lesson was written, the team visited 12 early education centers across Saint Lucia to learn directly from educators what they actually wanted and needed. Months of discovery came before a single page of curriculum.

You start with trust. Three sensitization workshops brought together administrators from centers across the island, not to tell them what the curriculum would be, but to build it together. Honest conversations. Real listening.

You start with agency. During training, educators experienced something simple but powerful: without agency, a group could not keep a ball in the air more than 7 bounces. With it, they kept it up for 36. That is the whole philosophy behind this work in one moment.

And you never forget to have fun. Music, dance, and joy were part of every phase, because experiential learning has to be felt, not just taught.

This is how you build a national curriculum. Not by handing down answers, but by walking alongside the people who will actually use it.
