What Is Digital Citizenship?

Digital citizenship refers to the responsible and ethical use of technology, particularly the internet, in a way that promotes positive online behavior and understanding. The digital citizenship definition encompasses a range of skills and knowledge necessary for students to navigate the online world safely and responsibly.
A key component of digital citizenship for students is learning how to protect their personal information, engage respectfully with others, and evaluate the reliability of online sources. As part of this, internet safety for kids is a critical concern, as children and teens must be taught to understand the risks associated with online spaces. So, what is digital citizenship? It’s essentially about fostering a safe, respectful, and informed digital presence for everyone, especially young users, as they develop their skills in an increasingly connected world.
