“Every problem has a solution. You just have to be creative enough to find it” ~ Travis Kalanick
Why take time out of your day to focus on problem solving with your students? Being able to effectively solve problems is integral to all aspects of a student’s education, whether tackling challenging algebra or trying to figure out an author’s intent, so helping students build their skills in this area will help them become better learners overall.
So what’s the best way to help students expand these skills then? By using the many problem solving activities found on the Kikori App, of course! Our activities are designed to foster discussion and learning around key problem solving competencies, such as planning, effective communication, and dimensional thinking. Furthermore, each activity is accompanied by a reflection component that will help students transfer their learning from this game or challenge to future situations that they face in school.
This week’s Share Out will give you a sample of the different types of problem solving activities available on the Kikori App. Try one out and help your students grow as problem solvers and social-emotional learners!
